  • Pets

As much as we love pets, we are not allowing pets at The Desert Shadow. A $500 per pet per night special cleaning fee will be charged if guests violate our policy.

We ask that you disclose if you have a Service Animal or Emotional Support Animal (ESA) before booking. Additional questions will apply.

  • Pool

The pool will not be heated during the winter and early spring season. The heating pool is not included in the nightly rate. There is the option to heat the pool during late spring & fall for an additional cost. Pool heating requires at least 24 hours notice before arrival and is charged at $150 per night from June to September and $200 per night from October to May, for all nights of the stay. The pool is heated to 81 degrees; there is no pool cover, so cooler weather can affect the temperature. Jacuzzi heating is included and is always set to 102 degrees.

  • Parties / Events and Extra Guests

Special events and parties must be approved by the host before arrival. Additionally, day guests are allowed and MUST follow house rules. All additional day guests must leave the property by 10 pm.

  • Nature's Animals

The Desert Shadow has a bounty of birds, roadrunners, chipmunks, and squirrels who live on the property. Feel free to feed them with the food provided. The bird feeder is located in the front yard.

Please be aware that rattlesnakes are native to the area. Always watch your surroundings, stay on designated paths, and never approach or disturb wildlife.

  • Commercial photography and video are only allowed with permit and prior consent. Location fee does apply. Please reach out BEFORE booking.
  • Kids must be accompanied at all times.
  • Must be 21 years old or over to book.
  • Maximum number of guests (day or night) is 8. Occupancy is strictly enforced by both us and the county.
  • Quiet hours are 10pm-7am. Please refrain from loud noise outside or from the home with windows open.
  • No smoking or vaping inside the house or game room. Smoking must be at least 30 ft away from the house.
  • Parking is on the property driveway only, maximum 4 cars. There is no on-street parking available.
  • We have 4 exterior security cameras (front gate keypad, a Ring doorbell, and 2 facing the front of the property) and noise decibel monitors that measure noise levels only - they do not record video or voices.
  • The property is on a septic system. Please put nothing but toilet paper in the toilets.
  • No food or drinks near or on the pool table in the game room.
  • Events are only allowed with prior consent. A location fee applies and guests must obtain an event permit with the County of San Bernardino as well as supply event insurance.
